Read the story

I'm Aaron, and I've been designing and building websites for twenty-one years. Morrison Web Design isn't an agency with a sales team and a roster of subcontractors — it's me, working directly with you, from the first conversation through launch and long after it.

Twenty-one years of doing this!

I built my first website in 2005, back when a friend needed a website for his band. The tools have turned over several times since: the platforms, the frameworks, the fashions in layout and type. What hasn't changed is the part that actually matters. A website earns its keep by turning visitors into customers. Everything else is decoration.

That's the lens I bring to every project. Before I think about color or type, I want to know who you're trying to reach and what you need them to do. A site that looks beautiful and converts nobody is a failure with good posture.

The work you haven't seen

For much of my career I worked white label. Polished Geek and Intergen brought me in to design and build the sites their clients saw, under their name, not mine. It's steady, invisible work, and it taught me things a portfolio never could: how to hit a deadline someone else's reputation depends on, how to inherit a half-finished project and rescue it, and how to build something a future developer can pick up without cursing my name.

The sites in my portfolio are the ones I can put my own name on. There is a great deal more behind them.

Why custom, and why Joomla

Website builders are genuinely good at what they do, right up until you need the one thing they didn't anticipate. Then you're rebuilding your business around a template's limitations instead of the other way around.

I build custom sites, most often on Joomla, because you end up owning something that does exactly what your business needs and can keep growing with it — without a monthly ransom for the privilege of editing your own pages. If you want the longer version of that argument, it's in the FAQ.

What working with me is actually like

There's no account manager, no ticket queue, no handoff to a team you never met. You email me and I answer. When something breaks at an inconvenient hour, you're talking to the person who wrote the code, which is usually the difference between a five-minute fix and a five-day one.

I'll show you a homepage concept before anything gets built, give you a private preview link so you can watch the site come together, and walk you through managing it once it's live. The step-by-step version of all that is on the FAQ page.

Based in the Upstate

Morrison Web Design is based in Simpsonville, South Carolina, just outside Greenville - working with Greenville, SC businesses as well as clients across the country. Most projects run remotely and I work with clients anywhere — but if you're local, I'd rather buy you a coffee than schedule a video call.

When I'm not at the keyboard

I am making music or hanging out with my son Max. I have a love for 90's and early 2000's movies, especially zombie movies 🧟🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟

Let's talk about your project

Whether it's a first website, a redesign, or a site that's quietly underperforming and you're not sure why — tell me about it. The first conversation costs nothing and usually clarifies more than you'd expect.
